While compiling the defconfig file using the make tool for my iMX6ULL-based custom SOM, I encountered the following error:

You need to fixed the toolchain, as example:

wget https://releases.linaro.org/components/toolchain/binaries/4.9-2017.01/aarch64-linux-gnu/gcc-linaro-4.9.4-2017.01-x86_64_aarch64-linux-gnu.tar.xz

CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/gcc-linaro-4.9.4-2017.01-x86_64_aarch64-linux-gnu/bin/aarch64-linux-gnu- ARCH=arm64

Yeah, I followed the steps outlined in https://fastbitlab.com/toolchain-installation-and-path-settings/ to fix the toolchain (I choice stable version: gcc-linaro-12.3.1-2023.06-x86_64_arm-linux-gnueabihf) in my host machine's .bashrc file. However, the same error persists.

Could you please suggest the proper steps to resolve this issue?

Hi,

I have the same issue "cc1: error: bad value (‘generic-armv7-a’) for ‘-mtune=’ switch" !

I tried to build U-Boot following the instruction on TORADEX : https://developer.toradex.com/linux-bsp/os-development/build-u-boot-and-linux-kernel-from-source-code/build-u-boot/

Can anyone help me please ?
