iMX8QM MEK-Audio Record issue on Android 12

Hi,

We are trying to test the audio on the i.MX8QM MEK board. After flashing the official Android 12 car2 image onto the board,
we connected the extended audio board (IMX-AUD-IO) Upon testing, we confirmed that the system sound through the 3.5 mm audio jack and the media sound
through the audio board are both functioning correctly.

However, we encountered an issue when attempting to capture audio through the 3.5mm audio jack and audio board using the following command:

$tinycap test.wav -D 1 -d 0 -r 48000
$tinycap test.wav -D 2 -d 0 -r 48000

The command successfully captures the audio; however, when attempting to play it back, no audio is produced.

I hope you are doing well.

Have you added an audio record driver?

It is possible that the hardware has switched two clock signals. We suggest Chapter 16 Porting Audio Codecs of imx porting guide. had to do a patch to the fsl_sai driver and change SYWD in the CR4 register as well as W0W in the CR5 register to fixed 32. Now everything works as expected. The final patch is attached in the below link.

Please note, that using DAI1 with an S2 port which is also patched by the codec driver. If you're using the S1 port, you have to omit some lines of the patch: https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors/Integrating-audio-codec-MAX98089-on-i-MX8M-Plus/m-p/1608331#M202250. There are three positions that change the level of the mute pin:

-wm8524_startup

-wm8524_shutdown

-wm8524_mute_stream
