Applicability of MCAL Safety Manual requirement SMCAL_CPR_EXT71

Hi Team,

I have a query regarding the MCAL Safety Manual for iMX8 IMX8_sMCAL4.2_Safety_Manual

SMCAL_CPR_EXT71 : MDL external notification handlers shall be part of a module having at least the same ASIL as sMCAL module.

Does this means that all notifications of MCAL shall be ASIL?

Is it applicable to the notifications that we implement separately like IcuSignalNotification, GptNotification etc...

Or is it only applicable to notifications to other modules like CanIf_RxIndication which is implemented in CanIf module?
