Hi,

i see imx7s is validated to work at 800Mhz max, while, imx7d can reach 1GHz

Could imx7s be used at 1GHz, setting the speed in fdt, without any risk of damage ? Would it be a stable/safe choice for a production board ?

Thanks

angelo

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products,

Look at page 4 of both datasheets, part number [-4:-3] or the first two characters of last four stand for the speed that the processor support, when you look at buy options, you only see at 08 parts.

Summarizing, i.MX 7 Solo can only work at frequencies of 800 MHz or lower. It's not stable, nor safe and should not be tried neither in development nor production.

Regards
