For i.MX 8X EVM Kit usage, Could you please let us know how to use the serial download mode for the Manufacturing tool? It seems to be not enough to understand the procedure of usage.

Hi,

For the i.MX 8X EVM Kit, the Manufacturing Tool (MFGTool) is used to download and run the OS images on target devices. The MFGTool supports the serial download mode, which is a special mode that allows the tool to communicate with the device even if no OS is installed.

I hope you are doing well

The Serial Downloader provides a means to download a Program Image to the chip over USB serial connection.

To use the serial download mode, one needs to set boot mode pins accordingly. Please refer to Table 5-1. Boot MODE Pin Settings from the Reference Manual IMX8DQXPRM.

To know more about serial download boot, please refer to section 5.10 Serial Downloader Boot from the Reference Manual IMX8DQXPRM.
