I'm having issues getting started with 8MPLUSLPD4-EVK. I'm starting to think that the evaluation kit is bricked. Some symptoms I've encountered:

Not seeing the 4 penguins when trying to boot the default image from eMMC

Not able to download software using uuu. The program does not seem to recognize that the USB device is connected but I can see the device using lsusb.

The board does not seem to boot unless I insert SD card containing Yocto-built OS.

Custom Yocto-built distribution does boot but Ethernet networking is not working. eth0 device is present but command ip link set eth0 up produces dmesg message "fec 30be0000.ethernet eth0: Unable to connect to phy"

Setting boot pins to 0010 or 0011 both boot the u-boot from eMMC which then loads kernel from the SD card

So Am I correct here or am I doing something wrong?

PS. I'm using Yocto hardknott with meta-freescale. I'm using imx8mp-lpddr4-evk machine and a custom distribution config based on poky.

How about using the demo images?

Yes. I tested both the SD card and eMMC variants. The SD card variant did not seem to do anything, and as mentioned above, I did not manage to flash anything to eMMC.

Which version demo images are you using? Have you success download the images to the SD card on your board? If yes, you also need to set the right boot mode, and you also need to configure the right boot command line in the u-boot.
