Does i.MX6S supports h.264 1080p encoding? Freescale documentation so controversal...

Guess the confusion is coming from the fact VPU (video encoder and decoder bloc) is an option, according to http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=i.MX6S&tab=Buy_Parametric_Tab&fromSearch=false#28 not available on S1 and S4, please check automotive datasheet for complete list of option : http://www.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/data_sheet/IMX6SDLAEC.pdf?fpsp=1&WT_TYPE=Data Sheets&WT_VENDOR=FREESCALE&WT_FILE_FORMAT=pdf&WT_ASSET=Documentation (or consumer and industrial but VPU is on all of those).

You could encode in software (make sure you use neon) but for that resolution at a very low frame rate, better use the VPU enabled part numbers.

Now everything is clear. Yes, I need hardware acceleration, so I will use part with VPU.
