topic iMX8M Mini eCSPI boot in i.MX Processors

On a system of ours, we have successfully implemented the eCSPI boot for the iMX8M Nano.

When using the same approach for the iMX8M Mini, I have the following question.
So far we have been able to start the SPL from eCSPI, but after that I'm not sure how the SPL is expected to load the rest of the bootloader (U-Boot) from flash.

The Nano uses the BootROM API for this, but looking at the U-Boot code this API is not implemented for the Mini. Is it a possibility to use the BootROM API on the Mini for purpose of eCSPI boot?

The Mini uses AHB access to load data via FlexSPI/QSPI, but I'm not sure this access method can be used for the eCSPI1 interface. Is this possible?
