The i.MX8MPlus processor doesn't have support for UFS interface. It has the SD Host Controller module that can support regular SD and eMMC devices, and GPMI module that supports generic parallel NAND Flash. Also, it has the PCIe interface, so, PCIe mass storage devices can also be supported.

Hi NXP,

In need of large flash with high performance (256GByte+)

Curious why the i.MX8M Plus doesn't come with a UFS peripheral, seems Kioxia is pushing for this technology over traditional eMMC's

I know some phones use PCIe NAND flash as an alternative. Not sure what is supported in HW there on the Plus, please advice.

Thanks David

any chance to get UFS on i.MX9 series

emmc speeds start to feel a bit vintage
