Hi dvorak-legend

from hardware point of view there are no limitations, however there may be limitations

from driver as it selects working mode automatically. For example of usage of various LCDs

one can look on below link

I'm trying to run a 1440x1440 display from the MIPI DSI output of the i.MX8QM. The datasheet says the max resolution is 1080p60, but the data rate of 1080p60 and 1440x1440 at 60fps is exactly the same. Is this possible, or is there some other hardware limitation? Or is it a better idea to use the HDMI output with a HDMI to MIPI IC/FPGA?
