      <title>IMX8MQuad audio codec</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi to All,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am new in this IMX8MQuad processor.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have an EVK for this IMX8MQuad.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If we check audio part, audio codec is not working.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But when we tried with hdmi audio its working fine.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;we checked the following commads to verify audio cards present or not.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# cat /prov/asound/cards then imxhdmiaudio only available.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;while booting ALSA device list also shows only #0 imx-audio-hdmi.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What is the issue how to solve this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In our actual board we are using TLV320DAC3203 how to include this audio codec into our project and how to build after these changes.Which device tree need to changes?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;prathap&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

With &lt;A href="https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=L4.14.98_2.0.0_MX8MQ&amp;amp;appType=license"&gt;L4.14.98_2.0.0 prebuilds&lt;/A&gt; we are getting below cards in cat /proc/asound/cards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;root@imx8mqevk:~# cat /proc/asound/cards &lt;BR /&gt; 0 [wm8524audio ]: wm8524-audio - wm8524-audio&lt;BR /&gt; wm8524-audio&lt;BR /&gt; 1 [imxspdif ]: imx-spdif - imx-spdif&lt;BR /&gt; imx-spdif&lt;BR /&gt; 2 [imxhdmiarc ]: imx-hdmi-arc - imx-hdmi-arc&lt;BR /&gt; imx-hdmi-arc&lt;BR /&gt; 3 [imxaudiohdmi ]: imx-audio-hdmi - imx-audio-hdmi&lt;BR /&gt; imx-audio-hdmi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also, we are able to play sample wav file using aplay.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please note that imx8MM and i&lt;SPAN&gt;mx8&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;MQ do not have direct support for record.
