      <title>How to use kdump in signed kernel</title>

BSP version is, imx-yocto-L4.14.98_2.0.0_ga.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;My query&amp;nbsp;is, I want to&amp;nbsp;capture&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;crash&amp;nbsp;log&amp;nbsp;when&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;is&amp;nbsp;getting &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;crash/panic.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;We&amp;nbsp;are&amp;nbsp;using&amp;nbsp;'kdump'&amp;nbsp;utility&amp;nbsp;to&amp;nbsp;achieve&amp;nbsp;this.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; Here, I'm using signed (Image + signature) container (combination of Image and dtb).&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;This&amp;nbsp;signed&amp;nbsp;container&amp;nbsp;will&amp;nbsp;get&amp;nbsp;authenticate&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;extract&amp;nbsp;in&amp;nbsp;Uboot&amp;nbsp;(by &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;using&amp;nbsp;"auth_cntr")&amp;nbsp;for&amp;nbsp;normal&amp;nbsp;boot.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;There&amp;nbsp;are&amp;nbsp;two&amp;nbsp;kernels,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;-&amp;nbsp;Standard&amp;nbsp;(production)&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;-&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;we&amp;nbsp;normally&amp;nbsp;boot&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; - Crash (capture) kernel - kernel specially used for collecting crash dumps&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;I&amp;nbsp;want&amp;nbsp;to&amp;nbsp;use&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;signed&amp;nbsp;container&amp;nbsp;for&amp;nbsp;capture&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;also.&amp;nbsp;As&amp;nbsp;per &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;kdump,&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;capture&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;will&amp;nbsp;be&amp;nbsp;booted&amp;nbsp;from&amp;nbsp;standard&amp;nbsp;kernel&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;when&amp;nbsp;the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;crash/panic&amp;nbsp;occurred.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;Is&amp;nbsp;there&amp;nbsp;any&amp;nbsp;possibilities&amp;nbsp;to&amp;nbsp;extract&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;signed&amp;nbsp;capture&amp;nbsp;kernel&amp;nbsp;in &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;standard&amp;nbsp;kernel?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;Thank&amp;nbsp;You.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;Best&amp;nbsp;Regards,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN style="white-space: nowrap;"&gt;J.P.Raja&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
