Hello,

what is the purpose of "verification index" in the CSF?

I understood SOURCE index is the index of the key in the table file to be installed ( used ).

I understood TARGET index is the index of the key where to install ( in HAB's keystore ).

Is verification index the index of the key in the HAB's keystore to be used for checking the signature of the key to be installed ?

for example, the IMG_KEY here below has a certificate that was signed by the key at index 0 in the HAB.

[Install Key]     
# Key slot index used to authenticate the key to be installed    
 Verification index = 0     
# Target key slot in HAB key store where key will be installed    
 Target index = 2     
# Key to install     
 File = "../crts/IMG1_1_sha256_2048_65537_v3_usr_crt.pem"

Does verification index mean index of a SRK key ? or any key ?
