Video playback on Chromium

Dear all and bernhardfink‌,

Now, we are developing the product using i.MX8M.

The product makes GUI application using HTML5.

It includes video playback.

So, we wants to work the Chromium on i.MX8M.

It seems that we cannot use the H/W decoder in VPU although we built it according to a post here.

The video playback using gplay is smooth.

But the video playback on Chromium is not smooth.

Please tell me how to solve this issue.

Hello George,

Chromium does not directly call VPU hardware decoders, but gstreamer can do it, so gplay can play video smoothly.

So you can use Chromium on GStreamer project to realize your purpose.
