Reboot command is not working properly in linux4.14

Hi all,

Software reboot command is not working properly when I give the $ sudo reboot and It stopped after all processes shutdown. If any one knows help me out.

Hi Santosh

one can check that power was removed all components on the board in the event of a

processor reset, as it is done in i.MX8M EVK design (with nWDOG U704 (UM805RE))

Otherwise one can try to debug and analyse which component remains in non-reset state, probably

dumping processor modules registers in good and non-working case.

Hi igor,

I think it is not an issue with watchdog module and after stopped all services again its not restarting in linux4.14 only.If you take linux4.19 its working properly.

if above requirement is not satisfied issue is random

and may vary depending on used kernel and board.

1. Can you explain how reboot works and reboot working flow.

2. Reboot command will works without watchdog timer in any arm device

nxp official linux from source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx repository
