UART communication between i.MX6 and Arduino UNO/pro mini

Hi,

I am using the i.MX6 Sabre lite board.
I am trying to connect Arduino UNO/pro min and to communicate via UART1.
I set the baud rate to be the same (9600).
while sending data from the Arduino to i.MX6 I do not see any characters (not even irrelevant characters).
If I reboot the Arduino I can see some irrelevant characters during Arduino booting.
If I am trying to send data from the i.MX6 to the Arduino receive signal but not something that the Arduino can parse (probably gibberish but I cant see the characters)
I already checked the HW connections and it looks ok.

please advice what is the correct serial configuration to communicate with the Arduino.
