i.MX53 Serial communication

I have imx53 on my board and had my sequence worked out. But I don't see any serial prompt something like ' >', am I suppose to see something at power up on the serial prompt? I wanted to run python script iMX_Serial_Download_Protocol.py

The internal serial (UART / USB) i.MX bootloader does not provide any special prompt.
Sometimes we can see some chars 'Vx' as standard (ACK) responses (0x56, 0x78), but those
are not prompt. Please look at section 7.8.3 (Serial Download Protocol) of the i.MX53 Reference
Manual.

Are there any examples I can load on-chip using JTAG to test some internal features like how fast is the core clock running, if serial port is initialized etc.?

Also we have DDR3 in our system, how to initialize it and adjust timing?
