hi NXP

i am using IMX8MQ evm with bsp release L4.9.51-imx8mq-ga

the linux user document is not explaining about video overlay test on imx8mq (it is there for imx6)

1. how to test video overlay on imx8mq specifically , which sink to be used

2. do we have linux documentation specific to imx8mq

i have downloaded fsl-yocto-L4.9.51_mx8mq-ga.tar.gz for IMX8mq evm Linux support

i am referring to the doc " i.MX Linux® User's Guide, Rev. L4.9.51_imx8mq-ga, 03/2018"

section 7.3.1.6.3 Multiple videos overlay in which talks about overlaysink

is not available under imx8mq gstreamer also the doc talks about IMX6 and IMX7 also

could you please let us know

1. any specific doc for imx8mq

2. which plugin to be used for imx8mq to achieve video overlay

2. any plugins for imx8mq to convert video and color-space (like IPU for imx6) ?

You can use the imxvideoconvert_pxp in gstreamer. There is no IPU in i.MX8MQ. video overlay, No Frame Buffer backend is supported in i.MX 8MQuad. Here you can use the waylandsink and kmssink .waylandsink and kmssink should be hardware accelerated through dss.
