Direct Camera Input using HDMI

Hi All.

The HDMI standard has connectability for video output and input in its specification.

Thence I ordered the additional MCIMX-HDMICARD board part (24bit HDMI MX535/08) to supplement my MX53 Quick Start EVB.

If the board vendor has connected these pins and allows user to use them is also a matter of interest.

So, my questions to those knowledgeable on such matters -

Can I connect and use a digital camera output directly to the HDMI connector (as video input) ?

If so, what functionality is available on-board for such usage?

I am very sure this option is not available on the HDMICARD (and the way it is connected to the i.MX53 video output only).

If you require a commercial HDMI to CSI (Camera Sensor Interface) solution, there might be converter boards for that.
