Difference between Mfgtool with rootfs and without rootfs

HI ,

I want to flash my target board having SDcard using MFGtool . I downloaded the MFgtool L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools from NXP site. This packages has two folders mfgtools-with-rootfs and mfgtools-without-rootfs . My questions are as follows :-

1. Both the folders having MFGtool.exe , so what's the difference is these two.

2. Can I use this package for flashing the IMX6 based target board .

Please suggest.

Hi Aditya,

What board are you using?

Please note that MFGtool was developed to be used with our evaluation boards. If you want to use MFGtool with a custom board you need to build an image that Yocto provides with all the settings to be used with MFGtool and edit it with you ddr settings.
