imx6: android6.0 can't find /dev/mem

Hi,

I want to access register according /dev/mem in android 6.0 refer https://community.nxp.com/message/457670 . But I can't find /dev/mem in android fs. Why?

Hi,

The reason is that it isn't enabled in the kernel configuration:

linux-2.6-imx.git - Freescale i.MX Linux Tree

The reason behind that reason is for security purposes. There's a CTS test that checks that /dev/mem isn't present, so it is the safe/standard option to disable it.
