i.MX8MM DRM framebuffer does not show splash/logo image during or after kernel boot

Hello,

I'm working on an i.MX8M Mini (i.MX8MM) based board and I'm trying to display a splash screen or any image (even test pattern or static logo) using framebuffer (fb) or DRM/KMS during early boot (kernel stage or just after).

U-Boot splash/logo is working fine and shown on display.
When the kernel boots, the display turns black (screen resets).
dmesg shows that imx-drm and fb0 are initialized correctly:
/dev/fb0 exists, but writing to it (using tools like fbv, cat, or custom code) does not result in anything on the screen.
Weston works correctly when launched later from the rootfs — it enables the display and rendering works as expected.

What I've Checked:
- Kernel has CONFIG_DRM, CONFIG_DRM_IMX, CONFIG_DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION, etc. enabled.
- Device Tree has proper lcdif, mipi_dsi, and panel nodes.
- Weston runs with drm-backend.so and works well, so the display pipeline is functional.
What I want to achieve:
I want to:
- Show a splash screen during or just after kernel boot (before Weston starts).
- Possibly write raw image data directly to framebuffer or use fbv, psplash, or something similar.
Questions:
1. Is there anything specific I should enable in the DRM or IMX DRM driver to get early framebuffer working?
2. Is there a known limitation on imx-drm not supporting fbdev write access until userspace enables the pipeline?
3. Is there an example of using fb0 directly on i.MX8MM DRM to display a raw image without Weston?

There are some reference solutions for continuous display of logos, please create a SFDC case so that we can share such solutions.
