topic PCA6915 Dynamic multi drop / star topology in High Performance Analog Front End Interfaces

Hi,

i am planning to build what is effectively a sensor hub, to which i can connect small boards with i2c devices, for example sensors or fan controllers etc.

I read about the PCA9615, which supports hot plug and multi drop. My question is similar to this one:

https://community.nxp.com/t5/Other-NXP-Products/PCA9615-in-star-topology/m-p/1838759?search-action-id=340739473524&search-result-uid=1838759

But in my case, i want to be able to add and remove the devices dynamically, so i dont know the number of devices connected beforehand, just the maximum number of connected devices.

Is it possible to have a "dynamic" multi drop architecture like this with the PCA9615? Out would i need to add one for each port to make it reliable?

Hi

I suggest you need to add one for each port to make it reliable.
