Error when opening project in FreeMaster

Hello

I was following this guide (https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12709.pdf ) to set up the FRDM-TOUCH, but I can't solve the error message appearing in step 7.3.

When importing the project file this message appears:

The board (FRDM-KE15Z) is successfully discoverd and connected in FreeMaster.

This error looks like this: get error to load freemaster project on PMSM with RT1050 , but nothing helped.

I tried a different pc, with the same error.

I tried Freemaster 3.0 & 2.5.

What can I do next?

Hi niels.steyaert@novy.be‌,

It looks like the project uses some relative paths that are resolved with respect to .pmp file location (not the temporary folder - the one you see in the message box). To fix this one I've done the following:

moved temporary directory content into the src folder next to .pmp file.

If you navigate to Project→Options...→Pack Dir, you will see that it's the original resource folder.

I have taken the folder located at C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\pcm1CB9.tmp, assuming this is the correct one?

It generates a different temporary folder each time, so the content should be the same in all pvmXYZ.tmp folders.

Judging by the error message, it fails to find some project symbols. Unfortunately I don't have the hardware setup to verify it (nor am I familiar with this project) so a quick guess - I'd try loading symbol file manually:

Navigate to Project→Options...→Map Files and select the your project binary file.
Press the button next to Default symbol file input field and select the .afx file
Once it is loaded, FreeMASTER should extract symbolic information from debug section (you can see the parsed symbols by pressing the View button)
