Hi, TurboMan,

You are right, "the 1243" means week 43 of 2012, but no documentation describes it. The DSC family has only the JTAG ID register to identify the chip, it has two registers:SIM_GPSCL and SIM_LSHID. While the Kinetis family has the CPUID register for core identification and SIM_UIDH,SIM_UIDMH... for chip derivative.

Hope it can help you

BR

XiangJun Rong

Hi,

I have a DSC which has what I assume is a date code buried in with other letters / numbering, on the chip package. The part is an MC56F84789, the code is as follows:

QQAD1243D

So I'm assuming the 1243 will be week 43 of 2012. I'm sure I saw a document on Freescale's site which explained this numbering, but I can't find the document.

Also, do the MC56F84xxx series DSCs have a unique chip identifier? The closest I can find is the JTAG ID, in two parts. I was sure that this unique ID had the wafer position as well, but this may be for kinetis only.

Any information would be helpful,

Regards...
