Hi,

thank you both for your help.

I managed to install and run CW 6.3 under Win7, following the instructions on this topic:

https://community.freescale.com/message/68969#68969

Then I remembered I hade somewhere a Cyclone PRO. Since the same problem appeared connecting it on the USB port, I then used the Ethernet Interface (after updating it's firmware on an XP machine) and it works fine. However Multilink is easier to use. So kef I will try the solution you suggest and post the result.

Mardalianis

I've installed CodeWarrior for Microcontrollers v6.3 under the Virtual XP running on a x64 i7 and Win-7.

Initally I installed the BDM (USB) inteface driver (V10) under the Virtual XP. CodeWarrior could not talk to the BDM. It reports that the port is undetected. Clicking the Virtual XP "Device Manager" button, the Jungo Windriver is present but not the USB Multilink 2.0 (Rev. B, updated with the latest firmware).

After that, I installed the same driver also under Win 7. Nothing changed. The port was again undetected. Clicking the Windows7 "Device Manager" button, the Jungo Windriver and the USB Multilink 2.0 were both present.

Any suggestions to this problem? I personally think that Freescale should already have Codewarrior run under Win7.

It did not work. Under win7 the Multilink blue led lit then in win XP mode window after attaching it, the PC installed the driver again.Running CW I received the same message (port undetected). I restarted the XP mode and when I attached the Multilink again the blue led went off and I received a win7 message, that an unknown device was detected etc..

So, to the moment, I will work with CyclonPRO and the Ethernet connection and later on I will come back.

Mardalianis

I installed a last PE usb driver under win-7 (pro version). When JTAG attached to the usb port

the LED is on, but when I attach to the usb under XP virtual machine I got a failure message.

What should I do?

You might want to take a look at application note AN4338, which describes a workaround for the USB driver issue. While the technique described is unsupported by Freescale and pertains to CW for MobileGT and CW for DSCs, it might be worth a try.

Don't forget to download the software archive associated with this app note, which is located in the archive file AN4338SW.zip.

---Tom
