Is it possible to Hotsync to a sleeping HC08 target?

I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work

using Codewarrior V6.1 for HC08

What are you trying to do here?

Are you trying to connect to a board, where an application is running without any interference to running application?

This is possible when you are connected to a HCS08 through a BDM connection.

It is not available when you are connected to a HC08 device through MON08 connection.

I'm trying to connect via BDM to a board running an application, then stop the running applicatioin and inspect memory. I found my problem; I was using an automated script to program the device, which was also securing the device. I changed it to not secure the device and .... tada !
