I assumed that PE does not support the X Gate, so there for they disabled it automaticly. And yes if you enable it after you start the project it will cause a ton of problems. Your best bet is to not use it, and if you need it make your self a "Junk" project for the regular DP512 and use PE on it and just copy over the code from one project to the other. ope this helps.
