CodeWarrior for MCUのトピックCW V5.0 hiwave.exe hangs up while using HC08

Hello everyone,

I.m so frustrated - I'm using CW V5.0 for developing my project for HC908GP32 chip. I would like to debug it with Full Chip Simulation, hovever IDE hangs up displaying the msg - loading target.

I traced problem to hiwave.exe. Even if the simulator is used in is stand alone mode (double click on hiwave.exe), the problem occurs if HC08 processor is selected in Set Connection panel. However, for HCS08 processor everything works fine.

Do any one of you experienced this problem? Is is just my PC or is is problem with Special Edition of CW V5.0.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Jarek

Hi,
I know nothing about CW5, and equally much about windows, but quiet a few things about 08s.
How exactly are you connected to your target? Is there a special adapter from your PC to the target header, or do you have a socket for the micro and plug in the emulator there, just like in the old days?
Have you managed to program your chip at least once?

Hi Kris,

to answer you questions:

- yes, I managed to program the chip with my own programmer I build using P&E Micro sotware.

- with regard to CW - I just want to test the code with full chip simulation. To do this, you don't need a programmed chip. You would just select HC08 processor and Full Chip Simulation option on the connection panel of Real Time Simulator/Debagger program (hiwave.exe).

Regards, Jarek

Ahemm,
Well then, can't help much here... I do everything on a Mac, you see, and then software µP emulators were never at the top of my list, either.
Good luck,
Kris

Hi,

I contacted Freescale Tech Support. It was confirmed that I had a correct version (not corrupted) of all the files. The new copy was send to me (they were great).

It was still causing problems, but I knew that it wasn't a CW problem. I decided to do a clean reload of Windows XP Prof with formatting my HD. It solved the problem. I still don't know what was a direct source of my troubles, but I'm running CW Sim and Deb.

Jarek
