How do I activate evaluation license for MobileGTv9.2?

I have downloaded and installed CodeWarrior for MobileGT for windows. When I try to start the IDE I get a dialog window saying the license is not valid. How do I use the eval app without a license? I have attached a screen copy of the error window.

from your screenshot, there are two possiable reasons:

1. your evaluation is expired.

2. your CW doesn't recognize your license.dat file

please upload your license.dat file here. thus we can confirm if it belongs to first case. this file is under your CW install folder. thanks!

Hello ZhangJun,

This morning I realized the problem is due to trying to run IDE through Remote Desktop. If I run directly from the laptop CW is installed on I do not get the license dialog. So I may not be able to run this remotely.

However, IDE will not start because the "preferences file is read only or currently in use". I have full admin permissions but cannot override the READ ONLY designation of the CW installed directories.

Hello Dan,

attached is the temporary license valid until 30-may-2014 with the Terminal services licensing feature enabled ("TS-OK" parameter in license.dat).

Regarding preferences file the file that seems to be causing the problem lives here:

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Metrowerks

and is called:

CodeWarrior IDE 5.x Prefs

If you right-click on this file and choose Properties, you can turn off the Read Only setting and then CW should work for you again.
