I’m having trouble trying to do a scripted build using Perl and the Microsoft COM/OLE interface to CodeWarrior. I’m using CodeWarrior Development Studio for MobileGT v9.2. The Perl build script runs on a remote build server and is kicked off automatically on any new code check-ins to version control. Sometimes the build works fine and sometimes it fails when doing an OpenProject() call. Once it fails, it keeps on failing until I log into the build server and run the CodeWarrior UI by hand. When I do this it displays the following error dialogue:

If I click OK CodeWarrior exits, then I run the CodeWarrior UI again and there’s no error. After quitting out of the CodeWarrior UI the build script starts working again. Any ideas on what’s could be causing this behavior would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Timothy,

CW for MGT V9.2 was released some years ago.

It seems the error message appears randomly. Am I right ?

What is the Windows OS used ?

Does the error occur when you launch the IDE by IDE.exe file too ?

Or it's occur when the IDE is called via COM/OLE scipt ?

What is the type of the license file you're using: NL or Floating?

Pascal

Pascal,

The problem does occur randomly using the COM/OLE script. The script is fired off automatically on a remote build server whenever code is checked in to version control, so I don't see the UI. Once this error occurs, it continues to happen every time a build is run remotely. If I log in to the build server and run the IDE manually I see the error dialogue. If I click the OK button the IDE exits immediately. If run the IDE manually again there is no longer an error and the COM/OLE script that runs remotely starts working again.

The OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and the license is floating.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Timothy,

Ok ... you're using Floating license file.

The problem could be linked to COM/OLE or to the floating license.

I think we should move to a Support Case to continue to handle this issue.

To submit your case into the new system, please follow below steps:

  1) Go to http://www.nxp.com/support/sales-and-support:SUPPORTHOME.

  2) On the bottom of the page under Submit New Issues, click Hardware & Software.

  3) Register with your business email to access NXP technical online support.

  4) A verification email will be sent to your account. Click the link embedded in that email to verify your access.

  5) On the NXP online support page, select Contact Support from the top menu and click “submit a new case” to start the process.

Your server OS is Win Server 2008 R2.

When You will create the Support Case, please can you provide us the following info:

    - Stop the server, delete log file, re-start the service, reproduce the problem, launch IDE (solved the problem), close IDE and launch the script again.

provide me the log file generated.

    - what is the Client OS used ?

    - your floating license file,

    - how the client is using the floating license (using the license.dat file or using environment variable port@host).

To determine if the problem is linked to the script or to the floating license I could provide you a NL license file.

Have a great day,
Pascal
NXP Technical Support

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: If this post answers your question, please click the Correct Answer button.
