Enquiry on Codewarrior CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE and CWH-CTP-BASE-HE

Hi,

Do NXP still selling Codewarrior USB TAP CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE?

If not, what's is the difference between CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE and CWH-CTP-BASE-HE.

I will need to use the Flash programmer and Hardware Diagnostics.

Currently I'm facing a probelm using CWH-CTP-BASE-HE. It seems like there's a connection problem.

After I connected CWH-CTP-BASE-HE to my target board, RUN/PAUSE led flashes red.

When I click on mobileGT9.2 -> Flash programmer -> Erase/Blank Check -> Erase , it will shows me an error message "connect fail"

May I know what's happening to my codewarrior TAP or software?

I had already follow the steps mention in AN4780 pdf files for mobileGT9.2.

Hello Evan

CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE is not manufactured.

Could you please create a new project for your board in CodeWarrior, and can you program it with debugger and CodeWarrior TAP?

If not, please key in the commands below on CCS console, and start debugging again.

delete all

config cc utap

config save

If this still does not work, could you please send the log file? To generate the log file, please:

- open the CCS windows

- type 'show cc',

- type 'show version'

- type 'log verbose ads.log',

- start debugging

- type 'log quiet'.

Can CWH-CTP-BASE-HE use with a laptop with Window 7?

Can I use CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE to replace CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE?

My customer is using CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE but we are using CWH-CTP-BASE-HE and had problems connecting to the same target board.

They told us that one of your authorized distributor in Singapore, Avnet Asia said that there’s a replacement of CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE to CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE. Is that true?

What is the difference between both PPCC and PPCD?

Hi Fiona,

I had tried out Codewarrior TAP (CWH-CTP-BASE-HE) with MobileGT 9.2 using window XP.

Whenever I connect the CodeWarrior TAP to the laptop, it will shows as the following:

There’s no CD given when I purchased the CodeWarrior TAP.

And CodeWarrior USB TAP TX/RX will flashes in RED.

Why is that so?

Hello Evan

CodeWarrior for MobileGT v9.2 and CWH-CTP-BASE-HE can work on the laptop with Window 7, but please update CCS folder by following the instructions in AN4780.

CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE is designed for PQ II/III (MPC51xx, MPC52xx, MPC7xx, MPC7xxx, MPC82xx, MPC83xx, MPC85xx, MPC86xx or QorIQ).

CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE is for for PQI (MPC5xx or MPC8xx).

For the differences for these two USBTAP, please refer to

Appendix A contains the pin assignments for CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE.

Appendix B contains the pin assignments for CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE.

Windows cannot find the driver for CodeWarrior TAP. The driver is included in CCS sub folder under CodeWarrior installation:

\ccs\drivers\usb

Please first update CCS folder with ccs_bld369_win.zip by following the instructions in AN4780.

Hi Fiona,

I had already updated the CCS folder and did what is mention in AN4780.

Had also installed the following:

6. Run setup.bat from the Command Prompt to install the USB drivers for

all CodeWarrior probes.

C:\...\ccs\drivers\usb> setup

Currently, “tx/rx” Led is in green. But after connecting to my target board, there’s no light for “Run/pause”.

I had also replace the license file in the folder, yet after preforming Flash Programmer, it says that connection problem, license file.

What should I do?

Hi,

A summary of the overall problem that we are having with our CodeWarrior.

Currently, we are using:

CodeWarrior USB TAP: CWH-CTP-BASE-HE

Software: MobileGT V9.2

OS: Window XP 32bit

1. I had gotten the license (nodelock) from NXP website for my XP laptop.

Had also replace the CCS folder as requested and run setup.bat from "freescale - MobileGT V9.2 - ccs - drivers - USB - Setup" to install the USB drivers.

However, I'm still facing license problem(see attached file).

Had also tried without changing the CCS folder and install the USB drivers but can’t.

2. Codewarrior "run/pause" LED did not light up after connecting to the target board.

Our customer had used CWH-UTP-PPCC-HE and has no problem with the same target board.

Could you please give us some advice how to solve these problems?
