Trouble when installing the Codewarrior IDE

Hello,

I would like to install Codewarrior IDE for HCS08 on my windows 7 64 bit.

When I install the IDE I get that error:

"failed to install the inf file ...."

Can someone have the solution for that problem?

hello.

I guess you should install Classic CW(for example CW6.3) on 64bit win7.

CW for HCS08 classic version can't work on 64bit win7. please use CW eclipse v10.6.4 instead.this is our recommendation.

Hi Xavier,

as explained Jennie we recommend to use XP OS for MCU V6.3.

This version was not tested under Win 7.

Now there is a problem since Microsoft decided to stop maintenance on XP.

We've already several customers using MCU v6.3 on Win 7.

The installer is not running but a customer found a way to disable the installer OS checking.

A video explaining the process has been posted too.

Another solution is to install the tool on XP OS and to copy the installation folder on Win 7 OS.

I've used this solution on my side.

After you must execute the \bin\regserver.bat file.
