Hi,

because I've just got a new computer, I installed a special version and added missing derivatives, and I was able to use PE without any issues. I also ask a colleague of mine to also test it and there was no issue. We both use W11 and we installed CW5.2 from our web pages.
I am really sorry we are not able to reproduce the issue.

We did not enter any special inputs during installation. ... standard, let's say, yes, yes, yes instalation.

Best regards,

I'm currently working on a project using the MC9S12G240, but I'm getting the error that this Microprocessor isn't supported by the PE. When I first got CodeWarrior, I added in the missing derivatives found in this article, and I was able to use other chips without any issue. My co-workers are able to use this chip with no issue; the difference is that they have the Standard Suite while I'm using the Professional Suite.

Could this be an issue that I would need to reinstall CodeWarrior on my computer or is it just with the suite I'm on?

did you try the MC9S12G240 chip to see if it works on your end? I can use the MC9S12XP512 chip with no issue which is also not supported by default in 5.2

Hi,

This doesn’t sound like a Professional vs Standard Suite limitation. Both suites generally support the same device families, so the issue is more likely related to Processor Expert (PE) device support or installation setup on your machine.

A few things you can check:

Make sure the MC9S12G240 derivative is properly installed and recognized in your CodeWarrior environment

Verify that Processor Expert support files/plugins are correctly installed (PE sometimes misses specific device XMLs)

Compare your setup with your co-workers' (same CodeWarrior version, patches, and updates)

Try importing a working project from a co-worker and see if PE still throws the error

If nothing works, a clean reinstall of CodeWarrior + updates usually resolves missing derivative issues

In most cases, this kind of error comes down to environment configuration differences, not the suite itself.

On a broader note, I’ve seen similar “works on one system but not another” issues even in telecom platforms and messaging systems, where small configuration mismatches can block functionality completely. It’s a good reminder to standardize environments across teams—something that also comes up often when working with scalable platforms like https://almuqeet.net/products/sms-platform, where consistency in setup is critical.
