Regarding USB tap for P2041

Hello,

We are developing out custom board with P2041, and we are in need of a Codewarrior USB tap for the said processor. When I looked in to the Freescale website, I could find only Codewarrior TAP which connects via both USB and Ethernet. We are looking for a USB tap alone.

We also have a Codewarrior tap with P/N : CWH-UTP-CF-HE. Is there any extra probes or connectors that can attach P2041 processor to this CW tap?

Hi,

Codewarrior USB TAP are obsolete and have been replaced with Codewarrior TAP, which as you said have both USB and Ethernet connection. Also, you will also need a probe tip targeted for Power Architecture (P2041 in your case). You must acquire CWH-CTP-COP-YE (Power Architecture® processor ( COP ) Probe Tips for CodeWarrior TAP) .

Is there any available probe that fits CWH-UTP-CF-HE to connect with P2041 processor?

CWH-UTP-CF-HE is intended for ColdFire (Microcontroller products), and your board is powered by a PowerArchitecture CPU (P2041).

Hi Asif,

in the past, most of the time the interface is dedicated to an architecture.

This was the case for CodeWarrior USBTap.

Several versions were available for DSC, Coldfire, etc ...

Now some interfaces are common and can be used on different architectures.

This is the case for P&E Multilink Univeral / FX interfaces.

These interfaces can be used on Freescale HCS08, HC(S)12(X), S12Z, RS08, ColdFire V1/+V1, ColdFire V2-4*, Qorivva 55xx/56xx, and Kinetis ARM microcontrollers.
