I am getting a message that says:

SC100CCSProtocolPlugin : CCS : Cable Disconnected

Whereas at my end the USB TAP and the power supplies are connected properly.
No Troubleshooting Guide is avaialble for this issue. Also there aint any diagnosis test to check whether everything is right with the Hardware.

Could anyone help me with this?

Here's list of a few things you can try:

1) I haven't fooled with the StarCore software in years, but check the debugger panel seetings to make sure that you've got the correct core selected. That might be in the Debugger Remote panel.

2) For a USB pod, are all of its LEDs lighting up? Do you get a (Windows XP) "ding-dong" tone when you plug in the USB cable into the computer? That is an audible signal that idncates the system recognizes the USB device. No ding-dong, no USB communications. If you're connecting to a USB port on the board, are the LEDs on the board lighting up? In short, you should get indications that the USB device is being recognized and working.

3) What product are you using to connect to the board? If it's a P&E Micro, you can search on its web site (http://www.pemicro.com) for trouble-shooting information.

4) Search for USB download on these forums. This problem comes up occassionally, and it's worth seeing how others have solved their connection problem.

Hi

Thanks for replying to the query.

But the problem is still. I did look for the USB download in the forum, but didnt find any suitable fix related to the 8144ADS.

I donot have any problems with the USB TAP either.

Also the power supplied used to connect to the hardware is working fine because i checked the supply on a couple of other boards.

Could you suggest something else?

You probably won't find a specific answer for the 8144ADS in the forums. What you will find are tips and ideas on trouble-shooting the USB interface, which is what the error message is reporting about.

Do we know this USB works? Has it been used to download from that computer to a test board? Or has it been shown to work on another workstation? Has the board in question been downloaded to successfully with a different configuration? Do other USB products (such as a mouse or memory stick) function properly with the USB port you're trying to use?

---Tom

Yes I am sure that the USB works as we connected it with the other ADS's that are avialable to me. Also the computer I am connecting to has all its ports fully functional. The problem is not with the USB I guess, its with the hardware for which the power LED's are not glowing. Is there a way in which this issue could be resolved?

Sounds like the board or its power supply is blown. You need to contact your FSL sales representative on what do to do next.

---Tom
