Processor = PowerPC 8270

What is the meaning of

Internal Linker Error: File: 'ELF_gen.c' line 978

There is no such file in my code or the code delivered with CodeWarrior. And searching the help files on this turns up nothing.

I am trying to configure a bare-bones application. I used the same procedure for this application as for another one I recently created that builds without this error.

Internal errors are usually a bad sign. Please file a service request on this. Be prepared to supply a project and source that does not give away your IP but can reproduce the problem. Click here to submit a service request.

It turns out that I had conflicting addresses for the entry point in the configuration. When I fixed that, the problem went away.

Would still be good to get it fixed for other users so the error could be improved from

"internal linker error" to "conflicting entry point address" :smileyhappy:

So please file a report...
