Hello,

The problem is that the USB to parallel converter is listed under USB connections in device manager. It is not linked to the LPT port. Anyone got an idea how to link the USB to the LPT1 port.

Thanks
Kabous

I would assume that the convertor would come with some sort of driver that you would install on the host computer. This driver would mimic a parallel port in the host system and redirect all I/O sent to this "port" to the USB port. Did the convertor come with a software disc?

---Tom

Yes it did came with a driver but it is only for windows 98 and me. Windows XP is plug and play. I went to speak with a few guys and they told me that the usb to parallel converters is dedicated for printers and is not seen as an LTP port.

The only solution is to use a Parallel to PCMCIA card or a docking station.

Thanks anyway
Kabous
