I'll refer you to the <A href="http://www.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/ref_manual/MCF5275RM.pdf?fpsp=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">MCF5275 Reference Manual</A>, and to the <A href="http://www.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/ref_manual/MCF5275RMAD.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">MCF5275 Reference Manual errata</A> sheet. Be aware that the timer can be configured to continue to run in the debug mode. See Chapter 21, page 1 of the reference manual.
