Hi everyone

I recently bought an MCF51JM128 microcontroller with a DEMOJM board.

I thought the J4 jumpers would connect the mini-USB port to the SCIx pins so that I could use it to send serial data from a PC. Although I installed pretty much every driver I found on the CD/usb key provided, the PC doesn't see any COM port.

According to the short tutorial I have to program the microcontroler to emulate the serial port. Isn't there some way to have the microcontroler think it's using SCIx and the PC think it's using a COMx port just using the DemoJM board ?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I thought it would be possible.

Thanks,

Dagnir

The same with QE board. There's no Virtual COM port driver for this board, and you can communicate SCI over USB only using PE terminal program, you can't use serial communications with your custom PC software :smileysad:.
