I implemented a TBDML BDM on a DT256 target board aimed at the Educational arena. However, when I attempt to use CW for HCS12, V4.6 I get the following error:

"Unknown Device: The connected device PARTID/SDID (0x0033 is not registered in the debugger core file. Do you want to select the device from a list?)

I click okay, pick from the list and it works..but it will prompt me again next time. I can erase and program the target using a P&E Multilink and the P&E tools. The program runs as expected. Howver, when I attempt to program the device using CW and the Multilink cable programming fails.

Since the part can be programmed using the P&E tools and the P&E cable I have to assume the board design is OK. I believe this is a CW problem either with the setup or with program functionality but I don't know where to look.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hello Spencer,

The TBDML has no trouble with S12 and does not use a different list of PARTID from the other tool.
I see two choices for you:

- Check your communications parameters and see if 0x0033 is the right PARTID for the DT/DG256.
- Ask support from FSL direct because you are a partner...

Cheers,
Alban.
