Hello,

Could you please update the KL25Z firmware by following the steps described in Section 3.3 of the User Manual: Connecting the FRDM‑KL25Z Freedom Development Platform.

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/user-guide/KT33816FRDMUG.pdf

To flash the Freedom board using drag and drop from Windows Explorer, USB Drivers and OpenSDA Firmware (MSD & Debug) from
P&E Micro www.pemicro.com/opensda must be loaded on the board.

When the download completes, unzip the file contents to a folder on the host PC.

Connect the Standard A plug of the USB cable to the host PC.

On the FRDM-KL25Z, press and hold down the Reset button. With the button held down, attach the mini-B plug of the USB cable to the FRDM-KL25Z USB port labeled SDA. Then release the Reset button. A blinking LED indicates the board is in Bootloader mode.

Open Windows Explorer on the host PC. An icon labeled BOOTLOADER appears as a removable drive on the PC.

From the files extracted from the PEMicro zip file, locate the driver file named MSDDEBUG- FRDM-KL25Z_Pemicro_v118.SDA. Drag and drop this file onto the BOOTLOADER icon.

Unplug the USB mini‑B cable and then reinsert it into the SDA USB port without pressing the Reset button this time. A blinking LED on the board indicates that the FRDM‑KL25Z has successfully entered bootloader mode.

Locate SPIGEN UsbSpiDongleKL25Z_XXX.srec image folder in SPIGEN folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\SPIGen\SPI Dongle Firmware).

Copy and paste or drag and drop the .srec files to the FRDM-KL25Z drive.

Unplug the USB cable for the open SDA USB Connector and plug it to the USB_KL25Z.

Let me know your findings!

KIT33816FRDMEVM Evaluation Board

So, I installed and follow the startup guide for the board. I connected to the computer and to the power supply. On the board, the 5V led indicator is good, and the KL25 Board is showing the blue led indicator (from purple change to blue pointing that the connection was successful). SPIGen also detected since at the moment that I opened I got the message "The SPI dongle was connected". But after I pressed any button RESETB high, low, or even update the driver, i got the same message error "Failed to send SPI word. Check to see that a USB SPI dongle is properly connected to your computer".

The file that I load to SPIGen software is the KIT33816-SPIGEN.spi and my OS is Windows 11. Also, as you can see on the image attached the driver SPI USB is being detected by the Device Manager on windows.

Does anyone experience the same issue?

Thanks for the answer! Now I don't have an issue regarding drivers. I have other question, I followed the steps for the example program. Is it possible to check and see the waveform on the injector HS1 (HS1 and Power ground on the oscilloscope) with this example?

Just to provide more information, on the guide is mentioned -> Go to the "Single Command" page in SPIGen and set the RESETB pin high - at this point not sure if when I click on the RESETB pin to high, I should click to Send Once? Because I noticed that after doing the Micro Code part (where I was successfully Download all) no matter what Pin I select, the Word to Send its always 0 (and just doing the Pin doesn't do anything on the board, which I tested on the corresponding TP).

Am I missing something?

Thanks
