    <description>&lt;P&gt;As the title implies, I'm wondering if it's possible to use the built-in CRC enginer on my S32K344 to generate CRC-8 checksums required for SPI communication with the FS26.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Seed and Polynomial is defined here, as per NXP's public AN14492:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="fede_ls_0-1766151122188.png" style="width: 615px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.nxp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/370791i24265F817A448FA9/image-dimensions/615x249?v=v2" width="615" height="249" role="button" title="fede_ls_0-1766151122188.png" alt="fede_ls_0-1766151122188.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I already wrote my own CRC driver but I noticed that &lt;U&gt;the Reference Manual S32K3XXRM "58.3.2&lt;/U&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;U&gt;CRC calculations" does not define a method for calculating 8-bit CRC.&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is it possible to use the CRC engine to generate 8-bit checksums?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thank you for your patience.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;CRC in S32K3 supports 16-bit or 32-bit mode. This means CRC-8 could not be implemented by HW.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I recommend that you download FS26's RTD, as its API already includes a CRC-8 software implementation. Click&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://www.nxp.com/webapp/swlicensing/sso/downloadSoftware.sp?catid=SW32K3-STDSW-D" target="_self"&gt;S32K3 Standard Software&lt;/A&gt; -&amp;gt; Automotive SW - SBC/PMIC - Real Time Drivers&lt;/P&gt;
