S32K3 Safe mode

Does anyone know what the safe mode of S32K3 is? Under what circumstances will MCU enter safe mode? The description of safe mode in the reference manual is only the following:

Hello,

According to my knowledge the safe mode was mode in mode entry module on MPC5xxx devices and SMC was used to control pins in that mode.

So either in K3 it is some virtual mode or it is remnant of MPC design.

I need to ask internally, what is the purpose for SMC in K3.

Looks like there is incorrect description in K3 manual.

In S32K396 it makes sense to me:

So it is for controlling pin status in Fault state of FCCU.
