topic [S32DS for S32K1] JSCOPE equivalent functionality for debug in S32K

Dear Team,

A customer working with S32K144 & trying to adopt S32DS has the following question, " Similar to J-scope, logical analyzer (communication protocols,- Minimum 100MHz Bandwidth), live variables viewer GUI (I have not found in IDE S32 Design Studio, but it is available in IAR IDE ), etc., any of these available from NXP, which should be very ease to handle and configure, can be interfaced to the existing screen (Laptop screen, Smartphone screen etc.)"

Essentially, the customer needs real-time view into a large number of internal variables (numbering ~50) and finds that Segger JSCOPE with IAR was very good. What toolchain (debugger/plug-in, etc.) can help this customer achieve equivalent functionality with S32DS for S32K1?

Thanks & Regards,

The S32 DS does not have such a GUI to view variable waveforms, but J-SCOPE is a third-party tool that can still be used with the S32 DS.

You only need to import the ELF file.

Hi@ narsimh_kamath

The debugger is the J-LINK series from SEGGER, such as J-LINK PRO or Plus, etc.

For more details you need to seek technical support from SEGGER.

https://www.segger.com/products/debug-probes/j-link/tools/j-scope/

You can see that the number of variables and sampling rates that different J-LINKs can support for observation are quite different.
