topic Does S32K324 support external RAM? in S32K

Hello.
We use s32k324 in our project but not sure if we have enough RAM for future. Is it possible to use external RAM with this controller? If so, what interface can be used for this purpose and is there an example covering this case?
Best regards.

Hello,

It support external flash or RAM memory with the QSPI interface, but we only have one interface, so not both cases. If you going to use the AHB bus, then the max memory mapped is 128MB.

If the example is not included in S32DS RTD examples then we have not. But I now see it in S32DS RTD for S32K3xx.

Best regards,

@petervlna thanks for your reply. I have found the example.
But if I understand the reference manual and example correctly the QSPI only supports memory mapped read operations and does not support memory mapped write. Am I correct?

Hello,

We only have the QSPI module, which support the memory mapping (only Reads) with the AHB bus, here the limit is that the external memory has to support the QSPI interface.

Best regards,
Peter
