I am trying to develop using FS32K MPU (FS32K148UJT0VLQT). The development tool that is recommended on NXP web-site is "S32 Design Studio IDE for Arm® based MCUs".

Since this is a new project, I thought the IDE "MCUXpresso IDE" should be used as this is the new IDE that NXP will support and develop.

Question: For a new project using FS32K148, should the "MUXpresso IDE" or "S32 Design Studio IDE for Arm based MCUs' be used?

Thanks.

Hi,

For S32K1xx devices please use S32 Design Studio IDE for Arm. This is the tool designed for S32K1xx devices, so it provides an better integrations with gdb, debuggers etc. Also, SDK is compatible just with Design Studio.

Probably with extra effort you can start your project in MCUXpresso IDE, but it is targeted for Kinetis devices.

Best regards,

Razvan
