S32G-PROCEVB3-S Hands on FlexCAN

Hello Supporter

I face problem when send/receive CAN message via CAN0: CAN is always busy as some topics mentioned, there is no tx and rx message.

I have follow below documentations to modify example "FlexCAN_Ip_Example_S32G399A_M7" to normal mode, send/receive message with CAN case/CANoe

- S32G-VNP-RDB3 Real-Time Driver Enablement Training Presentation

- S32G-PROCEVB3-S Schematics

Below is my change/configuration:

1. Enable PIN configuration: set up can tx/rx pin PC_12/PC_11

2. Change Clock for CAN:

3. Change config for FlexCAN0, add Siul2_Port

4. Update code, Init Port, change linker file

6. Build code successfully:

Please check am I wrong somewhere or any further step to do for success send/receive CAN

Thanks for contacting NXP support. Regarding your problem, please share the following details so that I may reproduce the issue on my side:

S32 Design Studio version used
RTD Version used
Are you creating an IVT binary blob or are you running the project with the debugger?
If possible please share the complete project you are using, you can use the private message feature of the community if you prefer not to send it in this public channel.
How exactly are you checking the errors? For example oscilloscope or CAN-USB transceiver.
Please share photos of the board to check the jumper configuration, in particular J155

Please share any other details that can help me narrow down the problem or reproduce it on my side.

My answer:

1. S32 Design Studio version used

2. RTD Version used

3. I create an IVT binary blob

4. Below is my complete project (nothing special - no reason for private :D)

5. How exactly are you checking the errors? currently i connected with CANcase and send/receive CAN message via CANoe, please check image 4_check_error and below

6. Please check 5_jumper to check jumper configuration

Today i have again add new example FlexCAN to do again for surely all my steps are correct and somehow it works

Below are my step by step:

I. Add new example project: FlexCAN_Ip_Example_S32G399A_M7, run with FlexCAN loop-back first, surely example work on my board.

2. Add PIN configuration, config clock, FlexCAN as guideline.

3. Modify code: add port initialization

4. Create blob file and flash

-> It works
