What is the M-core support about software version and UM on GLDBOX?

Hello,

I have an hardware GLDBOX, I get the Linux-bsp UM for A core, but I know little about the support for M core, for example the software version, open-source, UM doc.

1、What OS does NXP support now, RTOS or AUTOSAR? Are them open-source?

2、Does it has UM file to support build, flash, test?

1. On M core side, the software that NXP provided are listed below:

We do not directly provide AUTOSAR OS, but MCAL(RTD), most software packages provided for M core side are not open source.

2. There is not a unified UM like BSP UM of A core, but there are UMs in each of the software package.

I find that NXP support FreeRTOS for M core, but I can't find it in the software-package-manager webpage, I only find the FreeRTOS 4.0.2 for Core A and Core M and it is locked.

I want to develop on M core, so I have some questions as follow:

1. Dose GLDBOX's M core running now by default? Is it has OS and running by default?I received the hardware and do nothing about M core.

2.In the software list you provided, I understand that NXP only provide some driver:RTD,PFE,HSE,LLCE, not provide OS(RTOS,AUTOSAR) like A-core's Linux-bsp, is my understand right?

3.The FreeRTOS I see in the package manager is locked, it is for M core? Can I develop base on it for M core? How can I buy it or only need NDA?

If I use S32DS to build, flash to M-core ,the debugger is only support " S32 Debug Probe", does it support "Universal Access Device"?

The RTOS file you mentioned is used in S32DS.

For M core side developing, it is almost a totally different method comparing with working with BSP/Linux development.

If you are new to this field, I recommand reading the following document for the initial concepts of working with M cores on S32G in advance.

I download the FreeRTOS zip file, install it on S32DS, create a project from Example, and select FreeRTOS_Toggle_Led_Example_S32G274A_M7.

1、Is it the project with RTOS for GLDBOX's M core? I think it is, but I am not sure because in in your reply that NXP not support RTOS project for S32G274A's M core.

2、I can't find any files support for RTOS project with M core. How can I get them?

3、For the FreeRTOS_Toggle_Led_Example_S32G274A_M7 project before, I understand that it is only deployed on the M0 core. How to set up and use all M cores？

4、Does it only support debugger S32 Debug Probe and Lauterbach? What about "

Universal Access Device"?

5、In the example project FreeRTOS_Toggle_Led_Example_S32G274A_M7, it support board S32G-VNP-RDB2 PCB 47440 RevE SCH RevE, I am not sure my hardware GLDBOX with S32G274A is this or not, because that my debugger connect is not J64 as follow, but J48 on GLDBOX hardware, how can I confirm it？

Sorry for the delay from my side, let me try to answer your questions one by one:

[CY]:When you just received the GLDBOX, by default(with in-box SD inserted), while booting the board, the M core will not run by default, there is no OS running on M core side.

[CY]: On M core side, we provide standard software, which are with production quality, we also provide reference software, including FreeRTOS, but it is only used for reference, there are only a few examples with FreeRTOS, most M core side examples are bare-metal applications.

[CY]: Not very sure of your willing, may I know if you are willing to find the source code of the example? Once you installed it from the S32DS, then they could be found under \S32DS\software\PlatformSDK_S32XX_4_0_0\FreeRTOS

[CY]: Yes, it is used on M7_0 core, regarding to multicore setup, I feel sorry that I do not see there are documents about deploying it to other M7 cores.

[CY]: Yes, officially, only S32Debug probe and Lauterbach are supported for debugging S32G.

[CY]: Sorry that I do not have a GLDBOX in hand to check, but as far as I know ,the latest GLDBOX has very similar schematic comparing with RDB2 RevE, I suggest directly trying it on your GLDBOX.(with Debugger connected to J48 JTAG).
