topic Question on Failing MC33879 in Power Management

Have there been any issues with bad lots of MC33879 Octal Hi/Low Driver Chips? I have one date code that seems to be failing at a high level. Are there resources to check these date codes or see if maybe they are counterfeit chips?

Alternatively from a design perspective, is there any problems running with Vdd (logic 5V) powered and Vpwr (pwr 24V) unpowered for long periods of time? I could not see anything in the data sheets to say this would be an issues. I doubt this is the issue, because all the failed chips have the same date code, and others outside the date code have not been an issue.
